Well, ask kids video games are an entertaining way to get through the long hours of after homework boredom. But, are video games bad for children? Well we can start off by finding out what is the purpose of video games? The purpose of video games is to have a fun mentally challenging option for children so they don’t have to run around in the streets. The effect video games have on kids varies from child to child depending on that specific child’s ability to differentiate between fiction and reality, or fantasy and actuality. The pros and cons of violence in video games determine whether or not do violent video games cause violence in people (are video games too violent). The pros are that you can develop human nature skills such as how to protect your family if an intruder enters your home; however the cons are that you may develop an overly aggressive mind state which may result in the destruction of yourself or others. And the effects of video games on children are the most drastic between the ages of 7-12 when the child is still developing his sense of judgment.
